Recession hits Pinstripe Suits

Recession hits Pinstripe Suits
It really is the last straw. We can deal with job losses, pay cuts, factory closures, even food rationing, but please don't make our fashions dull.
BBC News has reported that sales of Pinstripe Suits are down.
Men in the business world are opting for the plain and boring flat colours. The recession may effectively eliminate the Sharp Dressed Man from the business world. It's all drab and conservative from here on in.
Business men can no longer afford to be brash and bold with their apparel choices, considering they may only be able to purchase one good suit. Or alternatively they may be able to afford many suits but wish to avoid looking as though they can. Some fear of returning the guillotine for the aristocracy, or a desire to distance themselves from the extravagant irresponsible yuppie banker image?
Either way self-expression and variety is the real victim here. You can repossess our houses and cars but please don't remove the strutting peacocks of the corporate world. Please don't clip their wings and wash-out their colours.
Unregulated Capitalism may not seem so different to Communism if the dress code degenerates into a palate of grey and khaki. Just think of the Kim Jong Il safari suits.
